The Municipality of Brighton’s Department of Parks and Recreation along with its volunteers and partners provides and maintains services year round for the residents and visitors of Brighton. A variety of programs and activities are available for individuals of all ages. Encouraging our residents to stay active and healthy enhances our community’s well being and quality of life.

King Edward Park

King Edward Park is located on Elizabeth Street. The park consists of a tennis court, skate board park, a play ground and a shelter area with picnic tables. It is also the location of the King Edward Arena.

King Edward Arena

Located on Elizabeth Street, our arena is home to the Brighton Minor Hockey Association, the Brighton and District Figure Skating Club, and other recreational programs.

 

Public Skating:

Fridays 7-8:20pm $2.00 per person

Moms and Tots -Wednesdays 11am-Noon -Free!

Senior Skating -Wednesdays 2-3pm $2.00 per person

Qualified professionals teach the basics of ice skating and the fundamentals of figure skating in a group environment.

Brighton Minor Hockey Association/ Summer Hockey School

The season begins with a conditioning school for all ages.
It runs August through April for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 19 years.

Mixed Teams play in six categories between the ages of 5 to 18.
Registration is held in February. Season starts in May.

Brighton Tennis Club

A member of the Ontario Tennis Association for all ages and levels of ability, ladies’, mens’ and mixed doubles nights are played each week with tournaments scheduled throughout the summer. Free lessons are offered with every junior membership.
A qualified tennis professional is available from May to September for private or group lessons.

Skate Canada Brighton

Lessons are offered through Skate Canada with NCCP Certified Coaches for people of all ages involved with figure skating and hockey. Programs include Can skate, Star skate (figure skate) and CanPower Skate.
