Watermain Reconstruction Project
Work on the Main Street Watermain Reconstruction is scheduled to commence today and continue until November 2023. The work will be carried out by QBT Excavating & Services Ltd.
The primary components of the project scope encompass:
- earth excavation and grading,
- removal and replacement of select concrete sidewalk and curb & gutter,
- removal and installation of watermain and water services,
- road resurfacing including hot mix asphalt milling and repaving, and
- the application of pavement markings
All activities have been meticulously planned to ensure minimal disruption to the local surroundings and infrastructure.
To carry out these tasks safely and effectively, Ontario Street and Princess Street will be temporarily closed to through traffic to facilitate water main tie-ins at Main Street. During this time, and upon the reopening of these intersections, Main Street will be maintained under lane closure for the duration of the works.
While access for local traffic will be maintained during the lane closure, we anticipate that local residents may experience minor delays within the construction limits.
