Brighton Council has proclaimed November 25 to December 10 as Orange Days, End Violence Against Women and Girls.
The UNiTE campaign is a multi-year initiative led by UN Women and locally supported by GRAN Northumberland (Grandmothers Advocacy Network). This network advocates for the human rights of grandmothers and vulnerable children who face violence in their daily lives, addressing the widespread issue of violence against women and girls globally, including in Canada.
Throughout the 16 Days of Action, orange ribbons will be tied around poles at King Edward Park Arena and at the Municipal Centre.
