Reconstruction of Loyalist Drive, Applewood Drive and Sharp Road

Please be advised that construction on Loyalist Drive, Applewood Drive and Sharp Road is set to commence tentatively the week of May 22nd continuing until September 2023. These works will include upgrades to sanitary sewer infrastructure, watermain, culverts, ditches and replacement of the asphalt surface. The contractor for these works is QBT Excavating Services Ltd.

Replacement of the sanitary sewer system may require a temporary closure of Loyalist Drive at Prince Edward Street. A signed detour route on Stephen Street will be used in the event a temporary closure of Loyalist Drive is required. Advance notice will be provided to businesses and affected residents. On street parking within the construction zone is prohibited during construction works.

Access to businesses will be maintained during construction. Some residential driveways will be blocked temporarily to allow for excavation of the sanitary sewer, those affected will be notified in advance to allow time to make alternative parking arrangements.

Water service to some properties may be impacted for a short time to allow for upgrades to the watermain. 48hr notice will be provided to affected properties in advance of all service interruptions. Water service to affected properties will be restored by the end of each workday. The Contractor will ensure that garbage and recycling pick-up is uninterrupted by construction activity. Affected residents will be notified if there are any additional instructions regarding garbage and recycling pickup.
