Our Mission is to Save Lives on the Water.
We provide marine rescue services and support to distressed people on the water at no cost to anyone who requires assistance. Brighton Marine Rescue (BMR) is a member of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary (CCGA), operating out of the Bay Street Marina in Brighton.
Brighton Marine Rescue is 100% volunteer operated with over 20 members consisting of both crew and land-based support positions.
Brighton Marine Rescue is taken out on marine search and rescue missions by the Joint Rescue Command Centre (JRCC) Central and Arctic Region. We also work closely with 424 Squadron, CFB Trenton, the Municipality of Brighton and other CCGA units. Brighton Marine Rescue currently operates a 34 ft. twin turbo boat “Brighton Rescue” and is on call 24/7 during regular boating season.
