Municipal Election Candidate Nominations Close Friday, August 21

Interested in running in the 2026 Municipal Election? If you are passionate about making a difference in our community, pick up your candidate nomination papers:

 

In person: Visit the Clerk's Department at the Brighton Municipal Office, 35 Alice Street, during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.),

 

 

Online: Download the nomination package online

Nomination papers are being accepted until Friday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. by appointment with the Deputy Clerk and Clerk for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillor. 

 

August Leaf and Yard Waste

Curbside collection of leaf and yard waste for the month of August begins next week.
 
Area 1: Tuesday, August 4, 2026
Area 4: Monday, August 31, 2026
 
Please remember that bags need to be:
  • less than 20kgs (44lbs),
  • rolled at the top,
  • curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your collection date and,
  • tie brush into bundles no longer than 3 ft. with material no larger than 2” in diameter
