Municipality of Brighton to Host Public Information Session for Brighton Lands Program

The Municipality of Brighton will host a Public Information Session on Wednesday, August 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to provide information about the Brighton Lands Program (also known as the Land Bank Program) for the municipally owned lands located east of No Frills.

The Brighton Lands Program is intended to generate broad community benefits through the strategic development of municipal lands. Revenues generated through the program are intended to be reinvested into a reserve or revolving fund, supporting the sustainable, long-term management of the program.

The Open House will provide residents and community members with an opportunity to learn more about the study for these lands as part of Brighton’s Land Program.

The development of a municipal lands program was identified as a priority in Brighton's 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, supporting the municipality's commitment to increasing the supply of affordable housing through a mixed-use development.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend to meet with municipal staff and the consultant team.
