Public Service Announcement: Search and Rescue Exercise to take place in Trenton

Residents are advised that 424 Squadron (Sqn) from CFB Trenton will be hosting and conducting a Joint Search and Rescue (SAR) Exercise within the Trenton Search and Rescue Region as part of TIGEREX.

 

Dates: Between May 4 to May 8, 2026

Location: In the vicinity of Trenton and Lake Ontario

 

The exercise will see 424 Squadron, Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Civil Aviation Search And Rescue Association (CASARA), and international partners including United States Coast Guard (USGC) practice realistic overland and overwater SAR scenarios with a focus on interoperability and coordination between air and surface-based assets.

 

These types of exercises provide realistic training scenarios for our dedicated Search and Rescue crews ensuring that we are ready to quickly respond to any type of incident to help safe lives.
