Harbour Street Construction Notice – August 2026

Beginning the week of August 17^th, construction on Harbour Street will start progressing to the next phase which involves moving into the Intersection of Cedar Street and working easterly to Forest Drive.

Road Closures

Harbour Street will be closed to through traffic between Walas Street and Forest Drive for the remainder of the project. A signed detour route will be put into place. Gosport will remain accessible from the East end of Harbour street.

Temporary Traffic Bypass – Forest Drive and Tall Pines

To accommodate overlap between the County Road 64 Reconstruction and Harbour Street Reconstruction, traffic may be temporarily bypassed through Tall Pines Drive and Forest Drive during the week of August 17-21 and potentially the week of August 24-28.

Water Service Interruptions

A temporary water system is being put in place to service affected residents during construction, however 2-3 interruptions to the water supply will occur during the project to allow decommissioning and hookup of the new watermain. 48 Hour advance notice will be given before an interruption to your water service.

Waste Collection

Garbage and recycling collection will continue as scheduled. Please place materials at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your regular collection day.

Landscaping

Trees, shrubs, gardens, and other landscaping within the municipal road allowance may require trimming or removal. Every effort will be made to minimize impacts; however, vegetation over underground infrastructure may need to be removed to complete the work safely.

Please use caution around the construction zone and keep children and pets away from work areas and equipment.
