Peace Park Pathway
Project Summary
The Municipality of Brighton completed the construction of a new accessible asphalt pathway through Peace Park to improve connectivity, accessibility, and recreational opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities. The pathway provides a continuous, barrier-free route between Huron Drive and Oneida Street while enhancing access to the park's playground and open green space.
The project included:
- Construction of a new accessible asphalt pathway connecting Huron Drive to Oneida Street.
- Construction of a looped pathway around the existing playground to improve accessibility.
- Creation of additional accessible connections throughout the park.
- Enhancements to support future playground expansion.
Designed as a field-fit project in collaboration with Municipal staff to integrate with the existing park topography while minimizing impacts to surrounding green space, the pathway was completed in September 2025. The project significantly improves accessibility throughout Peace Park, provides safer and more convenient pedestrian access to park amenities, and creates additional space for future playground enhancements.
