Veterans Way Municipal Parking Lot

Project Summary

The Municipality of Brighton completed upgrades to the Veterans Way Municipal Parking Lot in 2023 to improve stormwater drainage, renew the parking surface, and prepare the site for future electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The project included:

• Replacement of the existing storm sewer servicing the parking lot.
• Asphalt resurfacing of the municipal parking lot.
• Localized granular base repairs.
• Installation of electrical conduits for future EV charging stations.
• New pavement markings and site restoration.

Survey and engineering design were completed by Greer Galloway Limited, while municipal staff completed the detailed design, tendering, construction inspection, and contract administration. Construction was awarded through a competitive tender process and was completed on schedule and within budget in May 2023.

The Municipality is currently pursuing grant funding opportunities to support the future installation of electric vehicle charging stations at this location.
