Walas Street Reconstruction
Project Summary
The Municipality of Brighton completed the reconstruction of Walas Street between Harbour Street and Raglan Street to improve stormwater management, renew aging municipal infrastructure, and upgrade the roadway to the municipality’s current urban road design standard.
The project included:
- Installation of a new storm sewer system and storm service laterals.
- Replacement of water service laterals and installation of sanitary sewer cleanouts.
- Construction of new concrete curbs, sidewalk, and asphalt roadway.
- Restoration of driveways, boulevards, and disturbed landscaping.
Engineering design was completed by Jewell Engineering as part of the Harbour, Walas, and Marina Infrastructure Program. Following a competitive tender process, construction commenced in 2025 and was substantially completed in November 2025.
