The Finance Department carries out the responsibilities and duties assigned to the Treasurer through legislation and Council directives including the municipal budget, accounts payable, billing, property tax, and financial reporting. The Treasurer keeps Council informed about municipal financial needs and changes, and oversees the budgeting and financial planning processes.
