Have you ever wondered what it's like to work in Municipal government? Curious as to how things work and to see behind the scenes into our operations? Look no further!
This year we're offering a week full of activities to give you a glimpse into local government. See schedule below for more details...
Monday - Council Open House
Council Chambers at 35 Alice Street, beginning at 5:00pm
Meet and mingle with your members of Council, Brighton's CAO and members of the Senior Staff team ahead of the October 16th Council meeting. Light refreshments will be provided. Members of the public are encouraged to stay for the Council meeting.
Tuesday - Brighton Fire & Rescue Training Night Open House
Station #1 at 20 Elizabeth Street beginning at 6pm
See our volunteer firefighters in action during their Tuesday night training.
Wednesday - Water and Wastewater Workshop
Constructed Wetland at 211 Prince Edward Street, beginning at 11:00am
Ever been curious about how the Municipality's water and wastewater infrastructure works? Staff from our Water and Wastewater Department will be on-hand to explain the systems, tools and processes it takes to get water from source to spout.*
* Pre-registration is required for this event. Please see below to reserve your space. Please note this talk will take place outside. Please dress accordingly.
Thursday - Behind the Scenes Tour at Public Works
Public Works Building at 67 Sharp Road beginning at 1:00pm
Meet the fleet and the staff who maintain our roads, sidewalks, ditches, parking lots and more! Sit in a snowplow and tour the Municipality's maintenance bay where all of our equipment is stored and maintained.*

Friday - Free Skate at the Arena
King Edward Park Arena at 75 Elizabeth Street, beginning at 7pm
Enjoy FREE Public Skating sponsored by the Municipality of Brighton. Be sure to check out our display in the lobby where you can learn all about the different municipal departments and what they do to keep Brighton running smoothly!

There are so many amazing local businesses here in Brighton! Take a trip downtown and check out all there is offered, head over to The Shed @ King Ed and support some local vendors or grab some local produce/products from the Codrington farmers market vendors!
Canada Day Inspiration....
Heading to the Canada Day celebrations in King Edward Park? Snap a photo of your celebrations, grab a bite from one of the delicious food vendors there, support the amazing vendors in The Shed @ King Ed during grand opening weekend, and submit the photos for a chance to win the Discover Brighton prize!
There is no limit on entries into the draw, just keep exploring Brighton! Submissions will be open from July 1st to August 31st.
