The Municipality of Brighton is preparing for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, which will take place on October 26. To stay informed, learn how to register to vote, and access information for candidates, visit our Elections webpage.
In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, the Nomination Period for the 2026 Municipal Election is now closed.
Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in person at the Brighton Municipal Office. Residents can attend in-person or virtually on our YouTube Channel.
Road crack sealing operations will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 along various municipal roads identified on the map.
The meeting will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in person at the Brighton Municipal Office, 35 Alice Street.
Beginning the week of August 17th, construction on Harbour Street will start progressing to the next phase which involves moving into the Intersection of Cedar Street and working easterly to Forest Drive.
The Municipality of Brighton is excited to invite residents and visitors to an afternoon of live jazz music on Sunday, August 23, at Memorial Park. Featuring award- winning singers and musicians from Northumberland County, this free, family-friendly concert promises to be one of the highlights of the summer season.
The Community Events & Civic Awards Steering Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in person at the Brighton Municipal Office, 35 Alice Street.

The Municipality of Brighton will host a Public Information Session on Wednesday, August 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to provide information about the Brighton Lands Program (also known as the Land Bank Program) for the municipally owned lands located east of No Frills.
